The most important thing to consider when exploring therapy is to make sure you feel totally safe & comfortable.

Online therapy can be a very convenient and safe option & a useful support system in many circumstances such as:

  • parenting young children and unable to organise baby sitters

  • living in rural communities or remote locations

  • a very busy schedule which doesn’t allow for much travel time to in-person locations

  • you want help - but new environments can make you very nervous & uncomfortable

Emotional support is essential on your healing Journey. Stress, confusion, anger, exhaustion… Life can be overwhelming if you don’t have someone in your corner with whom you can vent, express, cry, fall apart & problem solve with. Please, if you are holding back from reaching out for support for any of the above reasons or more, then please know that I am can help support you online, in the safety of your own home (or garden).

Online - Video Therapy

You will need to connect to the video conferencing platform ‘Zoom’ with a computer or a smartphone - once connected, you see me and hear me as if we were in the same room together! Please rest assured that this platform is secure & ensures your privacy. It might feel a little strange at first - for you to be talking to a screen! - but I assure you that having a screen between us does not change my deep commitment to holding a safe space for you to freely express yourself. I am there to support you as if we were meeting in person.

Does online counselling really work?

Online Counselling is an incredibly effective holistic therapy medium because everything we can physically do ‘in person’ we can still do on video. We can sit, talk, drink tea & unwind. Even better… we could walk at the same time and do some ‘safe & sanitised’ nature walk-talk therapy! Being able to have counselling in the comfort of your own home can feel very empowering because you have complete control over your environment - think about being free to create a space where you feel most supported & safe, surrounded by your warm blankets, your favourite smells/candles burning in the background, the ability to go get food/drink as you choose.  

What do I need to do to prepare?

PRACTICAL

You will need a computer/smartphone with camera capabilities & strong internet access - headphones & microphone can be useful but not essential. Click on the Zoom session link provided in your appointment confirmation email & the session will soon start.

PERSONAL

Holistic counselling is very personal work, so please take the time to prepare yourself and your space accordingly. If inside; create some privacy - turn your phone to silent, close the doors; make yourself comfortable - get yourself a drink, tissues might be a good idea, curl up on the couch or in bed; honour this time as a sacred gift to your healing journey- breathe, relax, light a candle. Please be ready 5 minutes before your appointment so that we can make the most of our 60min session time together.

How do I pay?

At the end of each session I will ask you provide your credit card details for payment to be made using our secure payment terminal and a receipt will be emailed to you. Alternatively, I can send you an invoice. Please pay within 24hrs. Non-payment will automatically void any future appointment/s.

I live in a different time zone, what do I do?

All online counselling sessions are held in Brisbane, Australia (AEST) and all appointment information & reminder notices refer to Brisbane, Australian time. If you are located in a different time zone, please determine and note the time of your appointment in your relevant time zone.
